    The Ladies of Camelot Morris Woven Tapestry - Pansu

    Magic, myth, romance and excitement abound with The Ladies of Camelot (Des Dames de Camelot) and The Knights of The Round Table in this beautiful Morris tapestry wall hanging.

    The Ladies of Camelot is a European jacquard wall tapestry based on a set of large tapestries drawn by William Morris and Edward Burne- Jones and then woven in the workshops of Morris and Company (1890-1895).

    This period had it's moments of knights and their jousting games to win the hearts of the lovely fair ladies of Camelot, as they looked on and secretly rooted for their favorite Knights.

    King Arthur was madly in love with his wife, Queen Guinevere and they were a fine couple. However, she became most famed with the love affair she had with the handsome knight, Sir Lancelot.

    Size: 58 inches wide by 70 inches high - 6 pounds

    Composition: 80% Cotton, 20% Viscose and Polyester blend

    Primary Color: Blue, Green

    Secondary Color: Cream

    Finish: Backed with lining and tunnel for easy hanging

    Product Care: Gently vacuum every 6 months. Dry clean only when required

    Pansu tapestries are exquisite in detail and are considered the finest woven goods in the world. This is a Pansu tapestry, woven in France, cotton and viscose blend, lined with sleeve for rod, dry clean.

    History: The Ladies of Camelot is a European jacquard wall tapestry based on a set of large tapestries drawn by William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones and then woven in the workshops of Morris and Company (1890-1895). The Holy Grail, or San Graal, tapestries are a set of six tapestries depicting scenes from the legend of King Arthur and the quest for the Holy Grail commissioned by William Knox D'Arcy in 1890 for his dining room at Stanmore Hall, outside London. Additional versions of the tapestries with minor variations were woven on commission by Morris & Co. over the next decade.
